About me
Erik Breuer is a recording engineer and the owner and in-house engineer of The Brewery, a high-end studio that together with Bar Neiro makes up the Analogue Foundation Berlin. The Brewery is at the center of a jazz and soul movement that’s been on the rise in Berlin for some time, with artists like Àbáse, Theo Croker, Petter Eldh, Moses Yoofee and Sun Ra Arkestra coming through the studio. Other artists Erik has recently worked with include Jim Jarmusch, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Lucrecia Dalt, Patti Smith, Lyra Pramuk, Mitsune, Wayne Snow and many more. While working for Red Bull Music Academy, Erik was head of the studio team and designed and built over 20 recording studios around the world.
Bar Neiro is the first listening bar he has designed and built, including the custom hi-fi system, which is made up of premium vintage components.
Analogue Foundation is a collective who are dedicated to preserving and furthering analogue creation via record releases, international events, and activities. The Foundation is headed up by Grammy-winning New York City recording and mixing engineer Russ Elevado (D’Angelo, Erykah Badu), Audio-Technica, Erik Breuer and Soundwalk Collective.
Later this year the Berlin studio is setting up a cutting room with a Neumann VMS70 and Studer tape machines with preview, allowing for a fully analogue workflow and direct to disc projects.
